Our Minimum requirements - ensuring your satisfaction.

We and our hosts are proud to offer all the Oxford accommodation on this website. When we visit our hosts to verify the rooms we ask them to comply with guidlines of Bed and Breakfast minimum standards. Where the rooms cannot comply, it is noted in the room details.

Breakfast – self service (unless self-catering)

To keep our rates low we do not offer cooked breakfast however the continental breakfast will consist of the following, unless otherwise arranged with the host.

Fruit juice

Cereal

Fruit or yogurt

Toast or equivalent with butter/spread and preserves

Tea or coffee

Bedrooms

Bedrooms to be fully cleaned every week and for each new guest

• Comfortable bed in reasonable condition with headboard.
• Minimum bed size:         Single 6’3” x 3”  Double 6’3” x 4’6”
• Mattresses to be clean with mattress protectors.
• Clean and sufficient bed linen changed weekly and for each new guest.
• Each bed to have two pillows with pillowcases (per person), two blankets plus bedspread/quilt cover or duvet.
• Spare blankets available on request
• Suitable space for hanging clothes and sufficient hangers per person
• Drawers or shelves
• Mirror
• At least one opening window with clear glass
• Adequate heating at reasonable times
• Adequate lighting and main light switch by doorway
• Waste paper bin
• One drinking glass per guest
• At least one power socket

 

Bathroom/Shower Room

• Washbasin with hot and cold water and mirror above or adjacent
• Shower, if provided, to have curtain or other screen
• Lidded WC
• Toilet roll holder & toilet tissue
• Bin
• Adequate ventilation
• Window/s to have opaque glass, curtain or blind
• Adequate heating at reasonable times
• Towel rail or equivalent
• Hot water should be available at reasonable times for at least one shower or bath per person per day
• Clean hand and bath towel per person to be changed on a weekly basis and for each new guest. Additional towels may be reasonably requested.
• Electric razor point or adapter within reach of mirror either in the bathroom or in the bedroom
• Internal lock or bolt
• Shared sanitary ware to be cleaned daily and flooring cleaned weekly
• “En-suite facilities” will be located within the main bedroom and cleaned weekly
• “Private facility” will be solely used by the guest and cleaned weekly

 

General

• Homes to be vacated during the day, unless agreed with the host
• Laundry service offered on a weekly basis for long term visitors.
• Late night arrival must be agreed with the host.
• Each guest to be provided with a front door key
• If beverage-making facilities are not provided in the bedroom, then access to tea and coffee making facilities should be made available elsewhere
• Iron and ironing board available on request.
• Other meals where available must be carefully prepared, presented and properly cooked.
• Public areas must have adequate heating and lighting and the property entrance should be clearly identified.

Above all, the home should be clean, well maintained and comfortable with a welcome that makes the visitor feel at home.
